Easy & Free Mother’s Day Handprint Printable

Mother's Day 2021

I can’t believe it’s already May … of 2021. This month means my baby, Sawyer, will turn ONE. EEEK! Not to mention, I also turn another year older, so does my dog Shadow, and of course May houses Mother’s Day! Since Mother’s Day is around the corner, I thought I’d provide a super easy & free Mother’s Day handprint printable!

Our Baby Shadow turns 9!

However, before I get to the details on the printable, I would be remiss if I didn’t give my pup Shadow a few lines. This boy will turn NINE today. Yep, he’s a Cinco de Mayo boy. Ben and I got him a couple months after we married. He was our first baby together. I came to the marriage with two dogs, but Shadow was our first doggy together.

He was the runt of the litter, had to be hand fed for the first few weeks and he’s also cost us a lot of dough over the years with all his health issues, but he’s been worth it! We aren’t sure how much time we’ll have left with him, as he has a kidney disease, but we will love on him as long as we can.

Shadow is our one dog that demands to sleep on the bed. He cries if he’s not in the same room as me and he loves with his whole body. He’s so good with our kids and expects them to give him back rubs. He is the supervisor as I work on projects, as you can see him “supervising” while doing my recent Herring Bone project.

So, happy birthday, Shadow … you are one heck of a dog!

Mother’s Day Handprint Printable

Now on to the Mother’s Day Handprint printable … or for the doggy mom’s out there, it could also be a pawprint printable!

I created this Mother’s Day handprint printable with various options. One with handprints included and one without handprints. The version available to download won’t have my children’s name on it, but for our purposes I printed the kid’s names on it.

Sizing perfect for an 8×10 frame

The size is a normal 8.25” x 10.25” and will fit nicely in an 8” x 10” frame. My kids had a blast putting their handprints on! The printable says ‘Best Mom Hands Down’, so when you add in your own handprints make sure to put them facing down on the page.

Paint, paint paint!

For our printable, Harper used pink paint, Miles blue and Sawyer green. It can be a bit challenging doing finger prints on toddlers, but the mess and fun are so darn cute!

To not get too much paint on the hand, grab a paintbrush and brush the paint on the hand. This will ensure not too much paint gets on the hand for when you do the print. Then slowly put the hand, spread out, down on the paper and push all areas down as much as possible. Hold the paper down as the hand is lifted up and then check out the awesome print left behind!

Handwrite the from name!

For the heart/love at the end, your kid can handwrite their name or you can assist with that. It does make it even more personable for the Mom in your life! I chose to type the name, only because my near one-year-old would be difficult to write the name with … and my two-year-old!
